It depends on age. If the screen is under about five years old and only a couple of panels are damaged, spot repairs are the sensible answer. Once the mesh has gone brittle across the whole structure, patching it just moves the problem to the next panel along — we will look and tell you which situation you are in.
Most residential cages are a one-day job. Larger two-storey cages or ones needing frame work can run into a second day. You get a timeframe with the estimate, not after we start.
Standard 18x14 fibreglass is fine for most panels. Pet-resistant mesh is worth it on the bottom row if you have a dog. No-see-um mesh stops the tiny insects standard screen lets through, at the cost of a little airflow and visibility. We will spec it panel by panel rather than selling you the most expensive option everywhere.
